Plantation Details
  Timeline: 1732 bought by General Francis Marion better known as the "Swamp Fox". Marion lived and died (1795)here. General Marion is buried at Belle Isle plantation.

  Buildings: Marion continued to enlarge his plantation and built at "Pond Bluff" a large house of cypress. The building is pictured in Lossing's "Pictorial Field-Book of the Revolution" as a two story building with a porch over two-thirds of th front. Six windows show on the second story front. The original home was destroyed.
