Plantation Details


Oakland belonged to the Lowndes family.  Earlier, Laurel Springs belonged to Theodore Ravenel. In 1927 it was bought by E.F. Hutton who built the present one-story house in 1934 to replace an earlier one that had burned.  In 1942 Lightsey brothers purchased Laurel Springs.


  Currently: Oakland and Rose Hill are now a part of this plantation.

There is a row of old slave cabins called "the street".
